Festival Med #4

One concert I was personally eager to watch - especially after getting to know the artists in the afternoon - was Capicua. She has written some of the best and most relevant lyrics that has been sung in the past years, and the play with words in a northern accent is a delight to listen to, as befits a hip-hop artist from Porto. Capicua brings with her one hell of a crew which includes the energetic backup singer Marta Bateira, best known in Youtube by her character Beatriz Gosta. The surprise of the show was that each song was being…Read more

Urban Sketchers Algarve got the Municipality of the small Algarvian town of Loulé to invite a group of sketchers to record one of the largest and most peculiar events in the southern part of the country - Festival Med. The city's culture councillor toured us around a few gems in the old town during the morning, and then…Read more

Sketching weekend in Portimão #1 / Fim-de-semana de desenho em Portimão #1

ISMAT, the local university in Portimão, organized an event to promote its next school year to new and old students. Based on the emphasis that the courses in architecture and design have in the university's portfolio, it seemed fit to include free sketching workshops as part of the event. I, together with expert sketchers Luís Frasco, Filipe Almeida and Hélio Boto, banded around 50 eager students and showed them some simple exercises that allowed them to explore and enhance their sketching experience. O ISMAT, uma das duas universidades em Portimão, organizou um evento de alguns dias…Read more
